Hello Brothers & Sisters,
The business of the unit has and always will remain to empowerment of our members. It functions on a higher level with all members involved in the decision making process.
This Executive Board of this Local is committed to bringing in more members and having them get involved in the functions of this union. Whether it be serving on a committee, participating in an activity, volunteering with the political action team or simply assisting us with updates around the county, all that you can do is vital to the progression of our unit.
We are in a technology driven world and that too needs to be embraced. The internet has proven to be a mighty tool. Familiarizing yourself with the computer is one of the best ways to promote self-improvement. You can never gain too much knowledge so we say to you all, don’t limit yourself. Take advantage of the classes and courses that are offered to you. You are never too old to learn.
We are the stewards of our own destiny and we must embrace this legacy. Our local is over 30 years old. It was forged from the men and women who saw a need for dignity & equality for the “common man” not just those who are in the upper echelon. It is our duty to uphold and improve upon those goals they set forth.
SEIU Local 400 PG is changing to meet the demands of an ever changing world. Our demographic is beginning to change and becoming more diverse. This is another reason why we must collectively bond together in brotherhood and sisterhood to find common ground to again promote the growth within this unit and within the Prince George’s County Public School System.
Solidarity!
