FY-19 Negotiated Compensation Increases

Pursuant to the FY-19 provisions of the 2018 – 2021 Negotiated Agreement between SEIU and the Board of Education of Prince George’s County Public Schools, the following compensation-related negotiations have been finalized:

Full-time and part-time (benefit eligible) employees shall receive a 1% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) effective July 1, 2018. The COLA will be reflected on the December 14, 2018, pay date, to include retroactive earnings from July 1, 2018, to present. An additional 1% COLA will be issued to full-time and part-time (benefit eligible) employees effective January 1, 2019, and will be reflected on the January 11, 2019, pay date.

Beginning FY-19, for the purposes of merit increases, anniversary dates will be assigned as October 1 for employees hired permanently into Local 400 between July 1 and December 31, or assigned as April 1 for employees hired permanently into Local 400 between January 1 and June 30. Additionally, beginning in FY-19, a step 20 will be added to the SEIU Local 400 pay table.

All eligible full-time and part-time (benefit eligible) employees hired prior to December 31, 2017, with an anniversary date of October 1, shall receive a step increase effective October 1, 2018. The step increase will be reflected on the December 14, 2018, pay date to include retroactive earnings from October 1, 2018, to present.

All eligible full-time and part-time (benefit eligible) employees hired prior to June 30, 2018, with an anniversary date of April 1, shall receive a step increase effective April 1, 2019. The step increase will be reflected on the April 19, 2019, pay date for the pay period of April 1, 2019 – April 12, 2019.

Employees hired after June 30, 2018, are not eligible for the FY-19 step. Employees who received an unsatisfactory evaluation for FY-18 (July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018) are not eligible for the FY-19 step increase.

The July 1, 2018, 1% COLA and the October 1 step increase will be viewable in Self Service on or after December 6, 2018.
